Most teams we work with have a strong desire to commit fully to their work, exercise their individual talents, and produce quality results without having to waste valuable time and energy enduring the debilitating effects of a dysfunctional team. We have worked with many talent-rich teams that were not producing the quality they were capable of because of barriers preventing them from working as a team.
Many groups come to us to break down barriers and to build a team that works in an inspired and sustainable manner. A team that understands the talents, personality, and communication style of each member is much more effective in co-creating their processes, collaborating for effective use of resources, and problem solving together. Our style of training allows for teams to get to work quickly, dramatically reducing the time it normally takes to establish effective working relationships. If we are working with an established team that is not working to its full potential, our training will expedite uncovering limiting individual and team behaviors, thus clearing the way for the team to move in a new direction together.
We also support teams that are just forming. Many clients have us launch their new teams with a one or two-day retreat. Coming to Highpoint early in a team's formation can eliminate months of “forming, storming and norming”. In addition, it allows a team to proactively create agreements about how they want to work together, avoiding some of the pitfalls that can plague a team trying to meet strenuous deadlines without the benefit of a strong foundation.
Our focus is to highlight a team’s strengths and challenges in a manner that allows members to work toward becoming a higher performing team. Knowing how to make agreements and adopt behaviors that support the growth and success of the team is a pivotal part of this process.
We offer one-day programs to develop a common language and vision, unity, and personal and group awareness in an environment that is interactive and engaging. We also offer multi-day programs that provide extended learning opportunities.
The 8-to-8 Training
Optimizing your off-site
We designed this program to optimize a one-day off-site experience. The day will highlight your team’s strengths and challenges, communication patterns, leadership styles, and general team dynamics. We provide experiential exercises that highlight what works and what needs strengthening. The training culminates in an evening meal and debrief that define next steps for transferring learning and commitments back to work.
Two Day Offsite Retreat
Laying the groundwork for excellence
We offer a two-day retreat that allows teams to make significant progress in their performance as a team. A common scenario for teams is dedicating day one to teambuilding exercises and day two to transforming day one learning’s into specific action steps and agreements. Additionally, teams may spend the second day developing a plan for where they are headed, designing business processes together, and focusing on collaborative practices and solutions. At the end of day two, teams are always gratified by progress made and grateful for having taken the time to stop, dialogue, and interact at a level that produces solid progress. Our intention and commitment is to move teams to a new level of performance.
For all our trainings, follow-up is provided to support the team’s continued development and success.
What Clients Say about Training with Highpoint:
"Hello from Redmond: The work my team did at your center came at a perfect time. It's been about two months and people are still talking about the lessons learned. Our time was well spent and I've been recommending it to other Microsoft folks who are looking for a solid value.
The outdoor events and briefings committed us to identifying our big organizational challenges. My team was struggling with growing pains. For several years people had been neglecting to honestly look at the way they worked together. Some didn't realize how their behavior, although well meaning, impacted the group as a whole. History and events piled up and were left simmering....Your briefings put the issues into perspective and allowed the team to draw instant conclusions that could be applied on the spot.
Had we met on the Microsoft Campus, I don't think we would have had the same type of results. I encourage everyone to leave their email and frustrations back at the office and to immerse themselves. We needed dedicated time to focus on our big problems in a supportive and constructive environment. The rustic lodge and the outdoor activity allowed everyone to leave the office behind for a brief moment.
While no event could identify and correct all of our problems, my off-site with your organization was a step in the right direction. I'll do it again."
