ighpoint Experience provides training programs, coaching and retreats to optimize individual and team development. Carmen Cook and Michael Hansen co-founded Highpoint Experience in 1995. Together Michael and Carmen offer a powerful assist to teams and learning communities. Using their expertise, insights, and focus, they guide and challenge teams and communities to self-generate a vision for how they want to learn and work together.
Our experiential style of training enables participants to more fully recognize and engage characteristics that support individual and team learning and success, thus providing a transformative and relevant learning experience. We believe that if teams are engaged in the process of discovering, defining, and crafting how they will work together, the result is a stronger commitment to the team's vision and success. We create an environment for teams to collaborate and stretch their capacities together. We invite you to imagine the possibilities of being part of an extraordinary team.
Carmen Cook, Chief Creative of Highpoint, has spent the last twenty years of her work life coaching, training, and facilitating. Carmen has a strong belief that authenticity backed with sound practices creates results and increased satisfaction. Carmen has a passion for crafting meaningful learning experiences. Her current work is focused on team and leadership development and coaching teams and leaders to further realize their capacities for greater success, personally and professionally. Carmen has integrated her experience in education, high-tech, facilitation, and coaching to create innovative trainings that make it possible for clients to discover, question, stretch, and collaborate in ways that are profound, productive, and produce lasting change. Carmen is a certified professional coach and holds BA and MA degrees in Sociology and Education. Carmen lives on an island in the Puget Sound and when not working with clients, she finds balance and inspiration in family life, creative expression (currently in the form of painting color-filled abstracts), and exploring wild places by kayak and foot.
Michael Hansen is an author, facilitator, and experiential educator who has an ability to highlight individual and group learning patterns in a manner that is simple, effective, and relatively painless (fun). He has worked with thousands of people throughout the United States, Europe, and South America providing hands-on learning experiences that have an immediate impact as well as a heightened sense of awareness that unfolds over time. Michael's recently published book, Another Way to Be The Path Within is a personal development training presented in the form of a novel. Set in the Pacific Northwest, the story is a combination of fact and fiction, anecdote and truth, humor and sobriety. Michael has a BA degree in Communications. He is a third generation Washingtonian who loves to cook, play marimba, and walk barefoot on the beach.
